PropTrack's data revealed that Melbourne's typical house value fell to $971,000 in July, a 0.5% drop for the month and a 3.6% annual decrease. This trend is attributed partly to new housing supply keeping pace with population growth.

This continued decline in Melbourne's house values could present opportunities for buyers in the western growth corridor, as prices become more accessible. Sellers might face longer selling periods and increased pressure to price competitively.
